Meet The Camp DeWolfe Team:
Matt Tees – Executive Director
I grew up in Philadelphia and was fortunate to attend and serve at different summer camps throughout the East Coast. I graduated from Western New England University (Springfield, MA) with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Marketing, Communications/Advertising and completed a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in 2015. I met my wife, Emma, while serving in camp ministry in 2006 and since being married, we have served together at different organizations throughout the U.S.A. Our one guide has been God’s leading and continual draw on each of our hearts to serve and build His global church. One of our family verses is Matthew 28:18 where Jesus says, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” We enjoy quality time with our daughter, and making memories traveling over 30 countries and over 30 states, exploring God’s beautiful Earth and learning about the variety of cultures and traditions across the world.
Nathan Saccol – Program Director
I have lived the majority of my life in the small towns and farmland of Western Pennsylvania. I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and graduated in 2013 from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, a United Methodist seminary just outside of Chicago, with my Master’s of Divinity. My understanding of what it means to be “the church” has been strongly shaped by my education and my years of experience in camping. We (the church) are a community of believers pursuing wholeness for ourselves, each other, and those around us through the love and grace of God! I got married in November of 2015 and my wife and I are both passionate about helping young people explore and pursue the person God created them to become. We also enjoy playing board games, reading and discussing good books, and spending time with our family. We are excited to be a part of God’s work at Camp DeWolfe!
Anthony Suggs – Program Coordinator
A North Carolina native, I’ve spent the majority of my life in the South. Raised in the Southern Baptist tradition, I found the Episcopal Church after relocating to New York City to pursue my Bachelor’s degree at New York University, where I double majored in History and Drama. During my sophomore year, along with my introduction to the Episcopal Church, I was also introduced to the wonderful, life-changing work being done at Camp DeWolfe. Having worked with children since high school, I felt called to continue that work in a camp setting. My lifelong love of the outdoors has included hikes in the Appalachian mountains, the Rockies, the Blue Mountains (Australia) and the Tongariro Alpine Crossing (New Zealand), lots of kayaking, fishing, and a little bit of surfing. My role at camp will be to make sure that our life-changing work continues smoothly, providing support for our counselors, activity leaders, and Leaders-In-Training, as well as supervising waterfront activities. Additionally, I’ll be directly responsible for the creation of media content and general support throughout the retreat season. As Christian camp professionals, we are all called to serve others in the name of Christ; creating environments in which young people can connect with the loving nature of God through intentional community, relationship with creation, and Christian formation. I feel very lucky to be able to devote my time at work to doing just that!
Donna Barbaro – Office Administrator
I’m a Long Island native and Wading River local and graduate of SUNY @ Stony Brook and Dowling College. I’m one of the voices you may speak with when calling the camp office about booking a retreat or calling about summer camp. I like arts & crafts, cooking, gardening, NASCAR auto racing, boating, and fishing. The most exciting thing I’ve ever done is ride in a race car at 120 mph around Walt Disney World Speedway, and the most scary thing I’ve ever done is slide down a 12-story water slide (Summit Plummet). Working at Camp DeWolfe is inspiring, enriching, and energizing. I look forward to meeting our new summer campers!
Tristan Pitera – Maintenance
I’m a native to Long Island. Im an early high school graduate. I’m currently enrolled at Suffolk County Community College. I am Roman Catholic. From a young age religion interested me, I remember watching my grandmother leave for church on Sunday morning and not know where she was going, so eventually my curiosity got me to ask to go with her. Ever since then I’ve had a love for the church and teachings of Christ. I work at my church as a member of our ministry of hospitality as an Usher.
I’ve worked at Camp DeWolfe since January of 2015. Before working here, I first came to the camp as a camper then as an L.I.T.
I work for Camp DeWolfe as Maintenance. I keep the grounds clean and I keep the facilities up and running when something breaks. You might see me running around from one side of the camp to the other making sure that everything is in working order.
On a personal note, I’m a patriot and have a passion for American history, I’m a gamer, I enjoy going to the movies, I am an active reader and I enjoy gamer night with my friends playing cards, monopoly, or anything else we can think to play.
Alex Hill – Executive Chef
As a Certified Executive Chef with over 25 years experience working with children and adults, I realize the importance of healthful food. I have spent over two decades in University and private school food service, and I believe food is my ministry. The consideration and detail which goes into the preparation and cooking of the food for our campers and retreat guests has its foundation in my love for Christ, and to honor Him by dedicating myself wholly into my work of serving others. My passion is seeing others delight in my culinary efforts, where I use no preservatives or chemicals, and everything is made from scratch.
