THE LEADERS IN TRAINING PROGRAM (LIT) – for ages 15-17
A challenging program for high school youth to be empowered to discover their God-given potential and gain practical service experience. The leadership program includes, professional trainings, service projects, camp trips, and participation in a variety of camp wide programs. LIT’s help support campers and staff each day, while learning how to become the leader God has called them to be.
Each individual will be presented valuable leadership lessons through assisting counselors with campers in all areas of camp life – such as helping at activities, helping set-up, serve and clean up all camp meals, as well as various other responsibilities around camp like assisting with evening all-camp programs and snacks. Please note that the LIT program does involve many responsibilities that require work, while allowing for plenty of fellowship and fun.
Year 1 LITs will get an introduction to being a leader with a 3 week program. Year 2 LITs will have a 5-week continuous program with an exciting trip the weekend of July 22nd and 23rd. Throughout the week, the LIT’s are responsible for meal setup and cleanup, serve alongside the counselors at activities and help execute the evening programs – all while building relationships that will last a lifetime. It is a unique learning opportunity in biblical leadership training with lessons that will be of value in every walk of life.
The LIT is ultimately a 3 year program, with 3rd year LITs sleeping in cabins and assisting counselors with program for the entire summer. Those who successfully complete the 3 year program are able to apply for a counselor position a year earlier than potential counselors who have not completed the program.
