Meet The Camp DeWolfe Team:
Alex Hill – Head Chef
As a Certified Executive Chef with over 25 years experience working with children and adults, I realize the importance of healthful food. I have spent over two decades in University and private school food service, and I believe food is my ministry. The consideration and detail which goes into the preparation and cooking of the food for our campers and retreat guests has its foundation in my love for Christ, and to honor Him by dedicating myself wholly into my work of serving others. My passion is seeing others delight in my culinary efforts, where I use no preservatives or chemicals, and everything is made from scratch.
Tristan Pitera – Maintenance Assistant
I’m a native to Long Island. I’m an early high school graduate. I’m currently enrolled at Suffolk County Community College. I am Roman Catholic. From a young age religion interested me, I remember watching my grandmother leave for church on Sunday morning and not know where she was going, so eventually my curiosity got me to ask to go with her. Ever since then I’ve had a love for the church and teachings of Christ. I work at my church as a member of our ministry of hospitality as an Usher. I’ve worked at Camp DeWolfe since January of 2015. Before working here, I first came to the camp as a camper then as an L.I.T. I work for Camp DeWolfe as the Maintenance Assistant. I keep the grounds clean and I keep the facilities up and running when something breaks. You might see me running around from one side of the camp to the other making sure that everything is in working order. On a personal note, I’m a patriot and have a passion for American history, I’m a gamer, I enjoy going to the movies, I am an active reader and I enjoy gamer night with my friends playing cards, monopoly, or anything else we can think to play.
Lizzy Rice – Program Coordinator
Born and raised in the suburbs of Des Moines, Iowa I am a midwestern at heart. Graduate of Northwestern College, I studied Christian Education and Youth Ministry as well as Missions and Religion. I love creating whether that is painting, photography, taking care of my plants, building with reclaimed wood, brewing a good cup of coffee, or forming new friendships. Deep down, Christian camping ministry has been a passion of mine since the first time I sat around a campfire at the age of six. Throughout the years I have truly grown as a person and in my faith because of who I met and the opportunities I had at camp. All in all, I look forward to engaging campers in our outdoor, fun, and intentional programing at Camp DeWolfe.
Matt Tees – Executive Director
I grew up in Philadelphia and was fortunate to attend and serve at different summer camps throughout the East Coast. I met my wife while serving in camp ministry and we have served together in different organizations throughout the U.S.A. Our one guide has been God’s leading and continual draw on each of our hearts to serve and build His global church. One of our family verses is Matthew 28:18 where Jesus says, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” We enjoy quality time with our children, making memories traveling, meeting people and learning about the diversity and variety of cultures and traditions across the world.
