This season, the Camp DeWolfe team was pleased to continue developing their community partnership with Target. As part of Target’s Community Events and Development program, many of the Suffolk County Store Team Leaders and Interns volunteered time in summer 2011, to spruce up and paint cabins ready for a new season of summer campers. This fall, Target awarded Camp DeWolfe with a Community Grant for $4000 towards scholarships and community development and education work in the Wading River area.

Target’s Community Development Program includes the philosophy of a legacy of giving and service: “Supporting communities through giving has always been a cornerstone of our business and a belief that guides so many of our decisions. Each year, we’ve given 5 percent of our profit to communities, which adds up to more than $4 million each week. We also believe that donating our time, talent and resources is equally important as the income we give. Our team members give hundreds of thousands of hours volunteering in their communities every year.” (Click here for more info)

In the spring, some of the Suffolk County Target team leaders plan to serve at Camp DeWolfe and also engage in some team building workshops for their staff development days.
