On May 4th 2019, Camp DeWolfe’s 5th benefit luncheon welcomed guests from Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties, joining together the body of Christ, to invest in this youth and young adult ministry. Over ninety guests – camper families, alumni, campers, board members, and parishioners from many parishes in the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island participated in the annual celebration. The event was sponsored by Episcopal Ministries of Long Island.
Guests enjoyed a Silent Auction of gifts from the camp’s local guests, staff and vendors. A presentation included speeches by the Board Vice-President, David Cannon of St Mark’s Church, Islip, Board member, David Asher of Christ Church, Oyster Bay, and the Bishop of the Diocese of Long Island, the Right Reverend Lawrence Provenzano. Bishop Provenzano thanked everyone for their mission to young people both through camp ministry and in their parishes and reminded all of the call to love God and love people across the entire Diocese which includes over 7 million residents. Matt Tees, the Camp’s Executive Director, shared a word of thanks to all, for their generosity and stewardship, which allows every child to attend camp, through the camper scholarship funds available. The 2019 benefit luncheon raised over $22,500 in support of the ministry Camp DeWolfe. Click here to view photos of the 2019 benefit luncheon.
