10 Things you don’t know about me!
My name is Stephany Turcios, most of my friends call me Steph. I am 21 years old and I’m from the south shore of Long Island. I grew up in Baldwin Harbor but I now live and go to school at St. John’s University in Queens. I am a currently a Senior there with a dual major, Childhood and Special Education, with a concentration in Psychology. I love to try new foods, right now my most favorite foods are Thai and Japanese! My favorite camp activity is arts and crafts. Incorporating artistic elements into a camper’s daily routine is one of the most important activities to me. Not only are these young campers stimulating their creativity, but also they have a chance to have fun while doing it! I am looking forward to giving children the tools they need to become leaders in their communities, not only at camp but in their communities at home and school as well. I believe that this summer will give us opportunities to experience new friendships and settings as well. The natural setting is my most favorite core value at Camp DeWolfe. Our natural habitat serves as a great location to have campers active throughout the summer in a variety of fun outdoor educational and spiritual activities. After graduation, my dream job would be to have my own classroom in an elementary school. I want to further my education first in order to have all the certifications and degrees necessary in order to teach elementary, special education and/or English language Learners. See you this summer 2013!
