1. What’s your name? Rebekah Joyce (Beki for short)

2. What’s your age? 22

3. Where are you from? Auckland, New Zealand

4. What university/school do you attend? What major?
I attended a Christian school called Kingsway for 8 years then continued to a Christian Performing Arts School to major in Vocals and minor in Drama.

5. What’s your favorite Country/state?
Ooh this is a tough one as I’ve done a bit of traveling but still unsure as I’ve always wanted to go to London, well especially France and haven’t had the chance to. Out of the places I’ve been and wanting to go I do have a few in mind that would be on my favorites list: Tanzania, New York, LA and I’d love to visit the UK sometime.

6. What’s your favorite camp activity and why?
My favorite camp activity from last year was all the water sports. I loved being able to look out across Long Island sound and feel so grateful for the beautiful weather and place that I was serving in. Also scoring a great tan!

7. What are you most looking forward to about next summer and why?
There are a so many things that I’m looking forward to such as teaching drama this year, as I’m very passionate about acting and also lifeguarding at the pool and at the Sound. Also I’m looking forward to reuniting with friends and campers that I met last summer and also meeting new friends this year!

8. What’s your favorite camp core value (community, Christian Formation, Developing Leaders or Natural Setting) and Why?
From having the experience of being a counselor last year at Camp De Wolfe, I’ve learnt to appreciate the natural beauty of the environment, which is why I have chosen Natural Setting as my favorite camp core value. Last year I was blessed with lifeguarding and helping with water sports, which I could hardly call a job as it was incredibly peaceful and beautiful down at the Sound. It was a good reminder not to take anything for granted and to understand that what we have is more than enough.

9. What’s your dream job/vocation/calling for life?
A dream job for me is being able to work with youth whether that may be overseas or locally. I am so passionate about seeing how I can contribute to growth in the lives of others and so teaching something that I love, such as drama and music, would be an incredible opportunity for me. Even volunteering at an orphanage where I get to experience working with a variety of ages will be something that I would cherish. Other than that, I really enjoy traveling and so a job as a flight attendant would be another thing on my list.
