The Board of Managers of Camp DeWolfe met at Camp DeWolfe in Wading River, NY for their annual overnight retreat on Friday March 15th-16th 2013. The Board looked at the vision of the camp and how it will be able to best serve in the ongoing ministry of bringing the youth of the Diocese of Long Island to encounter Christ in a natural setting.
Ensuring the longevity of Camp Dewolfe to serve as an outlet for spiritual formation for Brooklyn. Queens Nassau and Suffolk is at the forefront of the Board’s vision for the present and the future. Some issues that were addressed included the damages that the camp sustained during Hurricane Sandy. While the new roof of the Benson house along with the clearing of fallen trees have been addressed, the bluff connecting Camp DeWolfe to the beautiful Long Island sound is currently in danger of caving in and over 30 feet was lost in winter storms. This requires immediate repairs which can only be done with your support. Please ensure that our dominion by the sea does not find its way into the sea!!
