“If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.” – Jesus (John 12:26)

On Saturday 8th September 2012, a group of around 15 volunteers from Suffolk County gave up their first Saturday this fall to serve at Camp DeWolfe in Wading River. Parishioners from St James Church in Brookhaven, Church of the Redeemer in Mattituck, St Mary’s Church in Hampton Bays and St Cuthbert’s Church in Selden brought cheerful smiles and servant hearts as they tackled several different service projects at Camp DeWolfe. The Art Classroom got a new coat of concerte paint on the floor, the Shower-houses’ doors were painted, and Staff Office doors were touched up with trim paint work, leaves were raked, branches and sticks collected, and even the Benson House got its fall clean with a basement clear out, windows and doors all wiped down and ready for the camp’s fall retreat guests. What a joy to join in fellowship over lunch in the Davis Hall, and what a blessing to serve alongside faithful servants of God!! We pray that each volunteer leaves Camp DeWolfe today with joy in their heart as they continue to serve Christ, in their part of His kingdom.
