How did Camp DeWolfe gets its name?  -The young people of the Diocese desired to have it called Camp DeWolfe and made their choice known. How did Benson House gets its name?   – Mary E. Benson left a legacy of $50,000 to the Diocese and Bishop DeWolfe used most of the monies to purchase the 72 acres in Wading River in 1947 (Journal of Convention 1942). Grand Re-Opening

    Despite the ominous threat of rain, nearly 250 guests arrived from all over NYC and Long Island – Congregants, Camp alumni, Staff of the Diocese and trustees – to partake in Camp DeWolfe’s joyous Re-Opening Event on Sunday 3rd June 2012. Bishop Provenzano offered a rallying sermon encouraging all in attendance to reconnect their parish families with the camp. Summer Sun for Schools

The sun shined at Camp DeWolfe all week for 85 x 8th grade students from the Institute of Collaborative Education from Manhattan, who celebrated the completion of their middle school years! Students played basketball, softball, and participated in Challenge Course activities and low ropes elements during the day time, then enjoyed the beach and a bonfire in the evening.
