It’s Okay to be Imperfect

Posted on Nov 30, 2017 in Camp Blog, Searchable

This summer I learned how to be patient with myself and others around me. To see when someone’s having a rough day, and giving them the time of day. To realize I won’t be perfect on a new task, no matter how prepared I believe I am for it. And the patience to accept that it’s okay to be imperfect. In fact, it’s in improving and striving towards the impossible goal of perfection that makes someone living in Christ. Rachel Cregier Counselor and Lifeguard...

A Prayer of Thanksgiving

Posted on Nov 23, 2017 in Camp Blog, Searchable

A Thanksgiving meditation from Scripture and the Book of Common Prayer: Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. A camper said that prayers are like mail because some take longer to get there than others and we talked...

Don’t Underestimate These Kids!

Posted on Nov 9, 2017 in Camp Blog, Searchable

My experience at Camp DeWolfe this summer has been such a memorable one. I’ve learned so much. God has shown himself to me in the environment here and in all the kids. These kids have shown me that they are capable of setting aside their differences to live along side one another while at camp, something that is very difficult even for grown adults to do. In one of my cabins “cabin time” my campers had a “campers only share” meeting and shared life stories in hopes of understanding one another better. These campers have humbled me and shown me that we...
