Praying with Our Discovery Campers and LITs

A few weeks ago we shared the prayers of the people from Adventure Camp with the Collect written by the Leader’s in Training. This week we would like to share the Prayers of the People written by our Discovery Campers and the Collect written by the LITs for the Closing Eucharist of Discovery Camp 2016. We would encourage Priests and other leaders of worship to use all or part of this in their own Sunday Eucharist liturgy. Summer Staff Reflections – Issue 4 – Kyle Smith

My time at Camp DeWolfe has been an amazing experience. From day one, all of the people that I have met have been amazing to work with and I will never forget any of them. Another great part of the camp experience was being an activity leader – nothing will beat canoeing on the Long Island Sound everyday for 2 months and for me to share my skills with campers. I saw God through my campers throughout my time on camp. Nothing beats the smile on a camper’s face when they have accomplished something difficult or challenging.

Summer Staff Reflections – Issue 3 Amy Morton

Camp DeWolfe is a place where you get to meet a variety of people with a variety of backgrounds. For me this was my favourite part of camp. Coming from England, I was able to learn about American culture and see it in practice. Learning about the campers’ lives and seeing them grow with God and in themselves through conquering their fears was incredible! Of course it is a challenge, but the result of seeing friendships between people grow and the love of God spread around the camp and the people makes it worth the challenge. Praying with LITs and Adventure Campers

The last Thursday night of each camp session here at Camp DeWolfe we have a Eucharist with our visiting chaplain. Our closing Eucharist is one of the highlights of our camping program and our campers are always active participants in the program. Part of their participation is to write the “Prayers of the People” to be used in the service. Our LITs got to write the Collect for our final Eucharist of 2016.
