Board of Manager’s Retreat Update

The Board of Managers of Camp DeWolfe met at Camp DeWolfe in Wading River, NY for their annual overnight retreat on Friday March 15th-16th 2013. The Board looked at the vision of the camp and how it will be able to best serve in the ongoing ministry of bringing the youth of the Diocese of Long Island to encounter Christ in a natural setting. Camp hosts Holy Week Mission Trips

The Diocese of Long Island Office of Youth Ministry are participating in a special collaboration with the Diocese of New Jersey Youth Ministry Office.  Hurricane Sandy has adversely affected many neighborhoods, parishes, and people in our respective communities.  This is an opportunity to put our faith in action and for youth and adults to honor the third Mark of Mission, “to respond to human need by loving service.” The Diocese of Long Island will host a Holy Week Mission Trip starting at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 24, 2013 on Palm Sunday.  Participants will learn about the challenges...

Preparing for a Camp Baby!

Camp DeWolfe is having a girl! Emma Tees, Program Director for Camp DeWolfe, is expecting a girl come this June. Her husband & co-director at Camp, Matt Tees, threw a surprise baby shower for her on Saturday, March 16. Emma was amazed that staff members of the Diocese knew and she  herself was clueless. Nonetheless, Emma  as so thankful for our kind gesture and support, along with all the other guests that attended.
